Nintendo
Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con
The Nintendo Switch is sort of a
hybrid between a game system and
a portable device. It
contains many movable
pieces that are included in the
package and
let you use the console for a wide variety of activities. As
a result, it ranks
among the most
intriguing
brand-new systems that
we have recently encountered.
COMPONENTS:
Inside the crate, you get:
·
A 6.2-inch tablet
·
The two joy-cons with a neon
·
An HDMI cable through
which you can connect this to your TV
·
A power supply which is using a USB type-c
connector
·
The joy cons grip
·
The joy con straps
·
The dock
THE TABLET:
So, the plastic bag actually contains this compact
tablet.
THE JOY-CONS:
The joy cons are similarly packaged
in tiny plastic bags. The system is
distinctive due to the joy-con controller design. These are detachable,
standalone
controllers that may be mounted to the tablet’s side or other accessories, or used independently. This gives you three different
gaming genres: handheld portable, standard gamepad and v-style remote controller
with motion
capture and sensing. Each one features a
radio and an internal
battery.
THE JOY-CONS GRIP:
The joy cons grip transforms the joy cons into sort of a
classic game pad setup. Once the joy-cons are in position,
you can immediately begin using the device.
THE JOY-CONS STRAPS:
The joy con straps slide on to the sides and give you a hand strap that allows you to connect it to your wrist, to prevent it
from popping out of your hands. These hand straps are adjustable and
are high-quality and do include a nice clasp that locks them in place.
There is also
a trigger
mechanism if you want to change these hand straps.
BUTTONS:
All the buttons are in roughly the same location as you might see
on a classic Xbox 1 or ps4 gamepad. Moreover, it also gives you additional buttons and controls which effectively turn these into dual
controllers for multiple players.
THE DOCK:
The dock is wrapped in lots of plastic and bubble
wrap. The dock is very simple. It is mostly plastic and it's very lightweight
and compact. There is also a USB type-c connectors surrounded by a bunch of guides that help to slot
the tablet into place. So, all of this helps you to
line up the console when you're connecting it.
There is a cable management and all the
connectors which are hidden behind the door, i.e.,
·
An AC adapter
·
A USB
·
HDMI output
On the outside, there are type II connectors for connecting
other accessories.
THE SYSTEM:
So, the console itself is basically a 6.2-inch
tablet. The resolution is 720p which certainly isn't sharp by today's standard
but it's ideal for mobile gaming. It prioritizes bear life and speed over high
resolution and the display does look great. It is an LCD IPS panel.
It is very bright
and colourful with good contrast.
THE DISPLAY:
The display is actually covered in plastic
rather than glass. It, somehow,
makes the system more durable but it is more scratched prone.
So, you should cover it in the screen protector. The display is also
very reflective. You are going to see a lot more glare on this panel.
There is also
an air gap between the LCD and the front panel, again for durability but
it does
mean there is more light refraction, which reduces the quality
of the display. Another issue with a plastic panel is that it does like to pick up fingerprints
and they're harder to wipe off because there isn't that oleophobic coating which
is usually on glass displays.
NVIDIA CUSTOM TEGRA PROCESSOR:
It is powered by Nvidia custom Tegra processor along with 32 gigs of
on-board storage which you can expand with
the help of a
micro-SD card slot, that is hidden behind the
kickstand. That means you can add up to 2 terabytes of additional storage.
USB PORT:
There is also a USB port toward the bottom, so you do not need the dock to
recharge this, you can connect the USB cable
directly. Along the top edge, there is very flush power bond and volume. Toward the top,
there is a game
card slot. These game cartridges come in very large containers. For their size,
they are roughly
the size of a SD card and the full-size SD card, but they are a thicker
BUILT-IN-FAN:
This tablet does have a built-in fan for cooling, but it only runs when it's connected to a TV running 1080p
resolution.
SPEAKERS:
There is also a set of front-facing stereo speakers which are etched in the
bezel on the front panel. These also exhausts from
the back
which delivers a much more immersive and fuller sound. This is a really good-sounding system.
BATTERY LIFE:
The battery life, of course, depends on the game you
are playing. So,
you should see about 2.5 hours
to 6 hours of game time depending on the graphics requirements of that game. The
battery is
around four thousand three hundred and ten million (4,310
million) powers.
CONNECTIVITY WITH TV:
When it comes to using this with a TV, the dock is connected to
the TV. All you have to do is to
drop the console into the slot and
it makes the connection automatically. If the console is powered on, this will transfer whatever is on the small
screen to the big screen instantaneously. It will even power on the TV if you
have that configure. So, once that's docked you can go ahead and remove the
joy cons and continue using the console from a distance, right on your big 1080p
TV. Of
course, this also works in reverse.
If you
reconnect the joy cons and remove the gamepad, the game that was on your screen connects right
back to the small screen.
INTERFACE:
The interface is pretty basic. The main splash screen has all
of your games loaded up.
YOUR ACCOUNT:
You can also quickly jump to your account by double tapping
on the
icon. You can see your account list and
your friend
list
OTHER ICONS:
You can see your battery status by tapping on it to see the percentage. There is also
a Wi-Fi
indicator
as well as the date and time. Furthermore,
there are options like news. So, you can double tap on it to bring up the news. There is also
a Nintendo store where you
can buy games.
The album contains
screen grabs. You have some editing options which allow
you to add
text, etc. You can copy, delete, or post these
images. You can share them to your Twitter or Facebook accounts using
your Nintendo account.
CONTROLLERS:
In controllers, you can see the battery status for each joy
con including
the console. You can also change the grip order. So, if you want to rearrange
these, you have the options for the Joy cons in the vertical or horizontal
orientation as well as the pro controller. You can also pair new
controllers and there's several options to do this; you can just dock them to
the console itself or, view other pairing methods, which includes holding the
button along the sides of the Joy cons.

TOOLS FOR GAME DEVELOPERS:
There are a lot of tools for game developers to develop games that are
really impressive.
